Calendar and image exports are reminders, not official records
With a valid discharge date, the tool can create an .ics file, open a Google Calendar event template, or download a 1200 x 630 PNG share card in the browser. Day precision exports an all-day event, while hour precision exports a timed event. These exports do not verify your official service status or replace orders from your unit or agency.

Where is my data stored?
By default, dates are saved in this browser's localStorage on your device. No account or database record is created. If you use a shared countdown link or calendar export, the dates are included in that URL, file, or event, so only share them with people who should see them.
Can I share my countdown with a friend?
Yes. Use the share button to copy a link with your enlistment and discharge dates as query parameters. Opening the link on another device pre-fills the dates automatically.
How is the progress percentage calculated?
Elapsed time ÷ total service time × 100. Elapsed is the time since your enlistment date; total is the span between enlistment and discharge. The result is clamped between 0% and 100%.
What's the difference between day and hour precision?
Day precision accepts YYYY-MM-DD dates and updates once per minute. Hour precision accepts a full datetime (with hours and minutes) and updates in near real time, showing hours, minutes, seconds, and milliseconds until discharge.
Can I add the discharge date to my calendar app?
Yes. Use "Download .ics" for a file that imports into Apple Calendar, Outlook, or any RFC 5545-compatible app. Or click "Google Calendar" to open the event template directly in Google Calendar.
What if I don't remember my exact enlistment date?
Use your best estimate. A day off won't meaningfully change the percentage for a 4-month or longer service. You can always adjust the date later—your progress will recalculate instantly.
Does this work for non-Taiwan military service?
Absolutely. The tool is country-agnostic—it simply counts the span between any two dates. The 4 / 6 / 12 / 18 / 24-month presets cover the most common service lengths worldwide (TW alternative / KR army / TW standard / extended), but you can ignore them and enter any enlistment and discharge dates manually for services of any length.
Why does the milestone list have chips that light up?
Each chip represents a milestone—25%, 50%, 75% progress, or "100/30/7 days remaining." A chip becomes highlighted once you reach that checkpoint, giving you a visual sense of progress throughout your service.
